Privacy

netquirk.com is a static site. It sets no cookies, loads no scripts from other companies and carries no analytics tag. This page explains that, and explains what the services you sign in to store instead.

What this site stores

Nothing about you. The pages here are files served straight to your browser, so there is no cookie for us to set and no profile for us to build.

Your browser may keep its own copy of the pages, and your web host and network may keep their own logs of the request. Neither is a record this site keeps about you.

What the services you sign in to store

The services on the network set their own cookies, so they can keep you signed in and remember the choices you make. The two below are the ones the sign-in service sets. Neither is shared with another company, and both are cleared when you sign out or clear cookies in your browser.

NamePurposeLifetime
session Keeps you signed in across requests. It holds your signed-in email and display name, and it is consulted while a sign-in is completing. Removing this cookie signs you out. 1 week from the last sign-in.
netquirk_oidc_retry Short-lived marker that stops the sign-in loop if a sign-in attempt fails twice in a row. 10 minutes from the failed sign-in that triggered the retry.

If you use two-factor authentication, the sign-in service sets one more cookie to remember the browser you used, so the second factor is not asked for on every visit. You can clear it in your browser at any time.
